Construction Auditor, UCP 7
Office of Audit, Compliance and Ethics
The Office of Audit, Compliance and Ethics at the University of Connecticut announces an immediate opening for a Construction Auditor. Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, the Construction Auditor will conduct interim and final cost reviews/audits and other analytical procedures as needed of University and the Health Center construction contracts to provide assurance that contractors/subcontractors are complying with applicable contract terms. In addition the Construction Auditor will conduct audits of various processes within the University and Health Center capital project areas to appraise effectiveness and compliance with regulations, policies and procedures. Examples of duties include: planning and performing audits; analyzing and evaluating results of audit fieldwork; compiling draft and final reports; reviewing findings and recommendations with appropriate supervisory staff and administrative officials; follow up and monitoring of implementation of recommended corrective actions.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, business management or related field; working knowledge of the methods, theories and principles of financial, operational and performance auditing; two years of experience in construction auditing or construction project accounting including experience with construction industry accounting and billing practices; strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in accounting or related field; extensive construction industry experience; CPA or CIA certification or completion of such within two years of the date of hire; strong computer skills and technical experience with complex data systems.
